About Forkward

Lucy, the recipe developer behind Forkward, in her home kitchen

Hi, I'm Lucy

Home cook, recipe developer, and the human behind every word on Forkward.

Forkward is an original recipe site. I started it because most of the search results I landed on were re-spun versions of the same six chocolate chip cookie posts, and I wanted somewhere to publish the recipes my friends actually ask me for — written the way I'd write them in a text, not padded for SEO.

How I test

Every recipe gets two test runs minimum. The first is a draft from a working hypothesis. The second is the recipe exactly as written, on a weeknight, while I'm tired — which is the only honest test for whether the instructions actually make sense. When run two matches run one, it goes live.

I cook from a real home kitchen — a 30-inch range, a half-sheet pan, a Dutch oven, no sous vide circulator, no immersion blender mounted in a custom rig. If you'd find it hard to do at home, I want to know, and I'll rework the recipe until you wouldn't.

What I cook

A broad mix — quick weeknight dinners, weekend baking projects, drinks, appetizers, and the occasional all-day chef-level build. I'm as interested in a fifteen-minute bowl of garlic noodles as I am in laminated brioche, and the site reflects that.

What I don't do

Nothing on Forkward is scraped, spun, or paraphrased from another publication. There is no AI in the recipe-writing loop — the ingredients, the steps, the headnotes, the failure modes I warn you about, all of it is from cooking the thing myself. AI is useful in this house for translating the cookbook my grandmother wrote in Croatian; it does not write the recipes.

How the site makes money

Forkward is free to read. Display advertising — currently powered by Google AdSense — keeps the site running. Ads are placed to balance revenue with a readable, fast experience. If something on the page ever blocks you from following a recipe, that's a bug; please tell me on the contact page.
